From outer space to the lowest place in the world, Tamar Regional council hosted the astronaut delegation of the Rakia mission led by Eytan Stibbe.  The group landed, by plane not rocket, at the Bar Yehuda landing strip at Masada and visited the Dead Sea Research Institute and as part of a mission to continue understanding of life in extreme conditions.  Focusing on how we produce agriculture, encourage demographic growth and maintain the tourism industry depite all the difficulties.

Eytan Stibbe, an Israeli former fighter pilot, businessman and commercial astronaut, became a 'space tourist' in November 2020 when he went on a ten day mission to the International Space Station in the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft on a privately crewed orbital spaceflight.  Ultimately the stay was extended and Eytan was an astonaut for 17 days and 2 hours.
