Family Festival

At the beginning of July over 800 visitors from all over the country took part in a weekend festival at Har Amasa.  Summer activities ranging from workshops, guided tours of the area, bicycle rides through the desert, and even a concert or two. Families

The festival is full of fun for all ages, families with young children and even grandparents. Twenty-four hours (with overnight camping facilities) of activities all connected with the environment, nature and health. The festival marks the official opening of all the summer activities for the Tamar Region and is run by the council and the members of the Har Amasa community.  The workshops were on the subject of nature and forest with hand on crafting by the children with anything and everything found in nature.  There was a circus show for the children and games and competitions with bows and arrows! The families went on guided tours of the area – through the eyes of the young children – with registered guides from the Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael (Jewish National Fund) and even prepared their own pitta bread on the Taboon – outdoor stove used chiefly for baking bread and pitta.
