    The Ultimate Achievement

    MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

They did it! Our incredible 10th-12th grade students from Ein Gedi youth group have successfully crossed the entire Sea of Galilee on rafts they built with their own hands. Under the expert guidance of Daniel, their amazing youth leader, these determined teenagers turned a challenging summer camp into an unforgettable triumph.

    Three Days of Transformation

What started as raw materials and ambitious dreams became a life-changing adventure. Over three intensive days, our youth engaged in a comprehensive program that challenged them physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Raft Construction: Hands-on building under the intense summer sun, developing practical skills and teamwork

Strategic Planning: Forward-thinking and problem-solving that pushed students to plan ahead and adapt

Meaningful Art: Sail painting that reflected current national awareness with sensitivity and values

Culinary Skills: Preparing delicious meals together that rivaled home cooking

    More Than Just Adventure

This wasn’t simply a recreational activity. The camp incorporated meaningful discussions and artistic expression related to Israel’s current situation, helping students develop both national consciousness and personal values. The sail-painting activity became a powerful moment of reflection, allowing young people to express their connection to their country through creativity and thoughtfulness.

The program exemplified how experiential education can combine physical challenge, artistic expression, life skills, and civic awareness into a single, transformative experience.

    The Results Speak for Themselves

“The kids are coming back very tired but mainly satisfied, and I hope also proud of themselves” – Daniel, Youth Leader

The exhausted but beaming faces told the whole story. These weren’t just tired teenagers returning from camp – they were young people who had accomplished something extraordinary. They had:

    • Built functional rafts using their own hands and creativity
    • Navigated the entire Sea of Galilee – a significant geographical achievement
    • Developed practical life skills through cooking and construction
    • Strengthened their national identity through meaningful artistic expression
    • Created lasting memories and friendships through shared challenge

Why the Dead Sea Region Matters

The Tamar Regional Council’s commitment to youth development shines through programs like this. Located in the Dead Sea region of Israel, our community understands the importance of providing young people with experiences that connect them to their land, their heritage, and their potential.

From the lowest point on Earth to the shores of the Sea of Galilee, our youth are exploring the full breadth of Israel’s incredible landscape while developing the skills and values they’ll carry into adulthood.

    Building Tomorrow’s Leaders Today

The Tamar Regional Council Youth Programs continue to provide transformative experiences that combine adventure, education, and personal growth. Our summer activities are designed to challenge, inspire, and empower the next generation of Israeli leaders.
